Which leather belt to choose: width, buckle and style

A discreet yet essential accessory, the belt finishes off an outfit. The right choice depends mainly on its width, its buckle and how you are going to wear it.

For women: width makes the style

  • 20 to 25 mm: slim and elegant, they define the waist of a dress, a shirt or smart trousers.
  • 30 to 35 mm: the versatile width, perfect with jeans or trousers with belt loops.
  • 40 to 60 mm: wide belts give structure to a coat, a loose dress or a long jumper, and make a statement with your silhouette.

As for finishes, our women's belts come in plain, metallic, printed or rhinestone-embellished leather, in a wide range of colours.

For men: 30 to 40 mm depending on use

  • 30 mm: the ideal width with a suit or dress trousers.
  • 35 mm: the most versatile, from chinos to jeans.
  • 40 mm: more casual, ideal with jeans.

Reversible, automatic or stretch?

The reversible belt gives you two colours in one, for example black on one side and brown or blue on the other: a single accessory for your whole wardrobe, and a space-saver when travelling.

The automatic belt has no holes: the buckle locks at exactly the length you want, for a precise fit and a very clean line.

The stretch belt, braided and elastic, follows your movements and stays comfortable all day long, whether sitting or standing.

Find all these styles among our men's belts.

Matching your belt and shoes

The classic rule: a belt in the same shade as your shoes, and a buckle in the same metal as your watch or jewellery. For a casual look, be bold with colour.
